Patient Information
We take great pride in our staff’s training, knowledge, and capabilities. We strongly feel that we can better serve our patients’ needs if our office policies and procedures are discussed. At their first appointment, new patients will be registered and asked to complete paper work regarding personal and insurance information so we may compile an accurate medical file. Information regarding medical history and prescriptions from the referring physicians may also be requested. Any changes in a patient’s personal information should be provided to our office as quickly as possible. We make every effort to provide the highest quality care and to minimize waiting time. It is our policy never to rush a patient nor to compromise care. Patient records and relationship with our facility is considered confidential—no information is ever released without the patient’s consent.

Insurance and Billing
We will assist as much as possible with the filing of insurance claims; however, to expedite the process and avoid confusion, we ask that each patient read their policy book or call their insurance company to learn more about benefits and coverage of the policy. Alabama Orthotics & Prosthetics will file claims as a courtesy to our patients and direct all questions to our insurance/billing personnel. Payment options for expenses that insurance does not cover will be discussed with the patient on an individual basis.


Appointments are scheduled weekdays from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Patients are seen by appointment, but we will do our best to accommodate walk-ins as well. On occasion, unavoidable delays occur when practitioners are called to the hospital on emergency. In the event of an emergency after hours, or on weekends, we have an ON CALL practitioner who handles these events. Patients may call our office to leave a message, and someone will return the call as soon as possible. Should it be necessary to reschedule an appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible and we will be happy to reschedule at a more convenient time.


Alabama Orthotics & Prosthetics will do everything we can to make the patient’s visit as comfortable as possible. We welcome suggestions, comments, or complaints and will do our best to resolve any problems and consider suggestions.
